"One of the main challenges I've faced during my breastfeeding journey is the round the clock feedings that happen during growth spurts. I felt unprepared and at times very overwhelmed. I find with breastfeeding that just when you start to feel comfortable with the routine, something new pops up whether it be cluster feeds or latch issues.
Another problem I've faced is a very hungry baby who requires more milk than I can always offer, even with pumping. I overcame these hurdles by substituting formula in for my son, while also breastfeeding & consuming Nurture Laiche lactation goods.
At first, I felt incredible guilty for not being able to exclusively breastfeed my son, as I was surrounded by the words "breast is best". And while I totally agree with that statement as breastmilk offers so many benefits, I feel as though a mothers peace of mind should be equally as important. For no one can pour from an empty cup.
Still breastfeeding, but knowing he needs more and having the option to provide what he needs through formula has made me a better mother overall. My goal for my breastfeeding journey is to breastfeed for the first year of his life. However it works for me."
